Mary Kennan Herbert teaches literature and writing courses at colleges and universities in New York City. Her poems have appeared in literary journals in 13 different countries. Her first three collections of poems were published by Ginninderra Press in Australia; her fourth and most recent book, "Coasts," was published by Meadow Geese Press in Massachusetts. She was awarded first prize in the 1999 poetry competition sponsored by the Midwest Conference on Christianity and Literature.
